GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Greenville Swamp Rabbits will host two of their division rivals on home ice at Bon Secours Wellness Arena for a two-game matchup, with game one against the Orlando Solar Bears today (Dec. 6) and game two tomorrow (Dec. 7) against the Atlanta Gladiators. The Swamp Rabbits previously came off a three-game road trip to three different cities within the division: game one at Atlanta on Nov. 27 (3-2 SO), game two at Charleston against the Stingrays on Nov. 29 (2-5), and game three at Jacksonville on Nov. 30 (1-4).

Penalty Killing and Power Plays

The Swamp Rabbits are converting at 15% on the power play success and a 86% penalty kill. From 59 power play opportunities, they have scored only nine goals. Taking 49 penalty kill scenarios, they have killed 41 of them.

For Orlando, they are 15.9% on the power play success, as they have scored 12 goals in 77 opportunities. From 89 penalty killing scenarios, they have killed 75 of them.

For Atlanta, they are 13.3% on the power play opportunities and have only scored eight goals during those opportunities. From taking 65 penalty kills, they have killed off 52 opportunities.

Shining Players

Bryce Brodzinski for Greenville is on fire right now as he currently leads his team in point making with 14 points (7G-7A) in 16 games. His brother, Easton, has 20 points so far with the Allen Americans — giving special looks at how good the Brodzinskis’ are.

Spencer Kersten currently leads the Solar Bears in assists (nine) and is tied with Brayden Low with 14 points; Low is excluded as he is currently on a PTO with the Belleville Senators (AHL). Tyler Bird has 12 points in 21 games from eight goals and four assists; he is the top goal scorer for Orlando.

Atlanta has Eric Neiley who has 13 points (6G-7A) and is tied with Cody Sylvester for assists. Defender Derek Topatigh currently has 11 points for two goals and nine assists.

Goaltenders

Jacob Ingham returns to Greenville after spending many weeks with the Ontario Reign (AHL) on a call-up to fill in for Erik Portillo as Phoenix Copley’s backup. From four games this season for Greenville, Ingham has posted two wins, 2.10 goals-against average (GAA) and a .943 save-percentage (SV%). He’ll likely start in both games at home, with Dryden McKay likely to start in Atlanta after those two games.

Ryan Fanti of Orlando has won three of his last 11 starts, while posting a 3.48 GAA and a 0.881 SV%. In his recent start against the Jacksonville Icemen, Fanti made 27 of 30 shots.

Ethan Haider of Atlanta has won four of his last ten starts, while possessing a record of 2.49 GAA and a .912 SV%. He started against Greenville during their last meeting at Gas South Arena, as he made 26 saves for 28 shots.

Puck drop for both games at Bon Secours Wellness Arena will be at 7:05 p.m., with the Swamp Rabbits hosting game one against the Solar Bears and game two against the Gladiators.
