ECHL: Wheeling Nailers Re-Sign Cole Tymkin

The Wheeling Nailers have announced that they’ve re-signed forward Cole Tymkin for the 2025-26 season. Tymkin, 26, made his pro debut during the 2024-25 season, playing in 24 games while putting up five goals and three assists for eight points, along with 63PIMs. He would also drop the gloves five times during the 2024-25 season. Tymkin was the only rookie forward to record a Gordie Howe Hat Trick during the regular season. He would add a goal and 30 PIMs in five games during the 2025 Kelly Cup Playoffs. Tymkin will add some more grit to the Nailers’ lineup next season. He is the third player signed to a contract for the 2025-26 season.

Prior to going pro, Cole Tymkin spent four years in the OHL with the London Knights. He would put up 38 goals and 55 assists for 93 points along with 337 PIMs in 199 career games. Tymkin would add two goals and seven assists for nine points in 18 career OHL Playoff games. He led the Knights in Penalty minutes in each of his last three seasons with the team. Tymkin also played in 14 games for the GOJHL’s Caledonia Corvairs, scoring six goals and adding 14 assists for 20 points.

After finishing up in the OHL, the Rainy River, Ontario native would play four years of USports with Brock University. In 85 games with the Badgers, he would put up 17 goals and 33 assists for 50 points. He would add five goals and two assists for seven points in 14 USports Playoff games.
