On Wednesday, July 10, Hockey Club Aosta Gladiators announced that Wichita Thunder forward Nick Nardella will be going overseas to Italy to play during the 2024-2025 season. Nardella, who is originally from Rosemont, Illinois, entered the ECHL during the 2022-2023 season. He first played for the Cincinnati Cyclones under an Amateur Tryout Contract (ATO). At the end of this contract, he signed a Standard Player Contract with the Iowa Heartlanders. During the 2023-2024 season, Nardella played three games with the Idaho Steelheads before being traded to the Wichita Thunder.
Standing at five foot ten, Nick Nardella joined the Thunder in November of last year. While playing for the Thunder, Nardella played in a total of 52 games, racking up 16 points (5 goals and 11 assists).
Prior to playing professionally, Nardella spent three years playing collegiate hockey at Michigan Tech. During his final season at Michigan Tech, he had 14 points (1 goal, 13 assists) in 32 games. By the end of Nardella’s collegiate career, he had played in 83 games and had a total of 31 points (4 goals and 27 assists).
From 2018-2020, Nardella played for the Janesville Jets from the North American Hockey League (NAHL). He was team captain for the team during the 2019-2020 season. In total, Nardella played in 100 games for the Jets. He would leave with 31 goals and 56 assists under his belt.
The Wichita Thunder kick off the 2024-2025 season against the Kansas City Mavericks on October 18 at Intrust Bank Arena.
