For the second time in his career, the Wichita Thunder’s Trevor Gorsuch has been named ECHL’s Goaltender of the Week for March 4-10. During this past week, Gorsuch played in three games, going 3-0-0 for the week. His save percentage for the week is .932, and he only had 2.61 goals against. During the Thunder’s win against the Tulsa Oilers, Gorsuch made 46 saves, only allowing one goal for Tulsa. In the close game against the Iowa Heartlanders, he made 35 saves so the Thunder could secure a 4-3 victory. Finally, Gorsuch stopped 28 shots and held strong during overtime against the Kansas City Mavericks, finishing off the weekend with a 5-4 victory.
Trevor Gorsuch joined the Wichita Thunder in April of 2023. Before the Thunder, Gorsuch was playing in the Southern Professional Hockey League for the Evansville Thunderbolts. He made 23 appearances for the Thunderbolts, leaving with a 15-8-0 record and averaging 2.26 goals against and a .936 save percentage.
Gorsuch has played in 101 ECHL games. Currently, his overall record 46-41-8. He has an average of 3.32 goals against and an average save percentage of .905. His record with the Thunder this season is 10-11-5, averaging 3.74 goals-against and a .903 save percentage.
Trevor Gorsuch is originally from St. Charles, Missouri, and played collegiate hockey for Western Michigan University.
The Wichita Thunder play Wednesday, March 13, against the Tulsa Oilers. The Thunder are currently ranked fifth in the ECHL’s Mountain Division.
