ECHL: Wichita Thunder Sign Defenseman

The Wichita Thunder announced on Friday that they have signed defenseman Tyler Jette. Jette, 25, recently finished his fourth season at Lakehead University as a Thunderwolf. In total, he played in 87 games for the Thunderwolves and racked up a total of 28 points (5 goals and 23 assists). The Thunderwolves finished the 2023-24 season last Friday after losing a playoff game against the University of Windsor. The Thunderwolves ended their season with a record of 18-13-3.

Before college, Jette was with the Sherwood Park Crusaders from the Alberta Junior Hockey League. For the 2018-19 season, he was team captain. During this time, Jette scored 27 points (5 games and 22 assists) in 45 games. The Crusaders’ record that season was 44-14-0.

Tyler Jette is from Farmington, Minnesota, and stands at 6-foot-3.

The Wichita Thunder’s current record is 18-26 and are ranked sixth in the ECHL’s Mountain Division.
