ECHL: William Provost Heads To USports

William Provost is heading to USports to join the University of Ottawa after spending three seasons in the ECHL. Provost, 23, began the season with the Trois-Rivières Lions, playing in 10 games before making stops in Worcester, Indy, and Iowa, before ending right back in Trois-Rivieres at the end of the season, but wouldn’t play again for the Lions. In 32 games last season, he put up two goals and three assists for five points. All of his points came during his 15-game stint with the Fuel. Provost joins Connor Roulette from Tulsa, who announced he was heading to USports earlier this summer.

The Senneterre, Quebec native has spent the last three seasons in the ECHL, as he’s spent time with the Fort Wayne Komets, Allen Americans, Maine Mariners, Wheeling Nailers, Trois-Rivières Lions, Indy Fuel, and Iowa Heartlanders. He’s put up 13 goals and 23 assists for 36 points in 91 games. His best stint came with the Americans, where he put up four goals and six assists for 10 points in 15 games. Provost would add one goal in four games during the 2023 Kelly Cup Playoffs with the Komets.

Prior to playing pro, Provost would spend five seasons in the QMJHL with the Val-d’Or Foreurs. He put up 55 goals and 78 assists for 133 points in 235 games. He would add an assist in 11 QMJHL playoff games. In his last season with the Foreurs, he led the team with 34 goals and 34 assists for 68 points in 66 games.
