The Worcester Railers announced that two of their star defensemen will be moving on to the American Hockey League. They will be playing for the Bridgeport Islanders and the Hartford Wolf pack. The organization wishes them all the best as they play their game.
Christian Krygier the 24 year old, is the Railers’ first call-up of the season. Last year, he appeared in 31 games for the Railers, tallying eleven points (2 goals, 9 assists). He also played two games for the Bridgeport Islanders at the end of the 2022-2023 season after finishing his five-year collegiate career at Michigan State University. Krygier participated in the Railers’ home opener on Saturday night prior to this move.
Griffin Luce, the 26-year-old, has signed a professional tryout with the Hartford Wolfpack ahead of their 3 PM game against Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT. He played in the Railers’ season opener on Saturday night and was one of four Railers skaters to finish with a +1 rating prior to hearing the news on Sunday. Luce participated in training camp with the Wolfpack this September before joining the Railers.
The news is shocking but understandable to the Worcester Railers fans as their season just kicked off. Especially with Griffin Luce having a standout performance, he deserves the nod. The Worcester Railers organization will bid farewell to two very important defensemen. The Worcester Railers are currently focused on who is currently skating for them. The team is in pursuit of a deep Kelly Cup playoff run.
