The Worcester Railers have announced that they’ve hired Chris Rumble as their new assistant coach. This will be the first professional coaching gig for the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, native. Rumble becomes the sixth assistant coach in Railers history.
A New Perspective Behind the Bench in Worcester
Rumble, 35, joins the Railers after spending the last three seasons as an off-ice official, most recently in the ECHL. He has also served as an on-ice official in the AHL, PWHL, and USHL. This is something that we don’t normally see in the ECHL, but could provide some new insight behind the Railers bench heading into next season.
“His unique path going from playing to refereeing to coaching offers a unique outlook on the game and a different perspective on how to handle certain situations. We are thrilled to have Chris’ growing family be a part of the culture that we’ve built in Worcester.”
