The Worcester Railers have announced that they have re-signed defenseman Ryan Verrier, and the organization could not be happier. Like most of the re-signed, Verrier is coming off a breakout season as we head into the 2024-25 season. This is Verrier’s second full season with the hockey club.
He is a native of Reading, MA, which makes him very comfortable within the New England area. His first experience in the ECHL came at the end of the 2021-22 season after he finished his collegiate career at the University of New Hampshire, where he played eight games with the Worcester Railers while putting up one assist.
He joined the Railers during the 2023-24 season, but prior to that, he played his first professional season in the Elite Ice Hockey League for the Dundee Stars, where he scored five goals and 15 assists for 20 points in 54 games.
“It was a done deal when I got my first opportunity to be here, it’s a done deal getting my second opportunity to be here,” Verrier said. “I’m excited to get back and play in front of the fans again.”
“It’s just such a great place to play hockey. New England is such a hockey area. The fans are great, the excitement around the sport is great, and I’m excited for the opportunity to get the team back to the playoffs.”

This past season, Verrier was at the top of the Railers in plus-minus at plus 9. He also had four goals and 12 assists for 16 total points in 58 games. The Worcester Railers have much to look forward to in Ryan Verrier’s game.
Ryan Verrier is the sixth player the Worcester Railers have signed for the 2024 offseason. Within the next couple of weeks, the team will continue to add and build together to be at the top of the ECHL.
