The Worcester Railers have announced that they’ve signed rookie goaltender Luke Pavicich for the 2025-26 season. Pavicich, 23, began his pro career at the end of last season, as he went 1-1 with a 3.48 GAA and .866 SV% in three games with the Orlando Solar Bears. He is the first goaltender signed by the Railers this offseason. It wouldn’t be a shock if we saw a tandem of Tristan Lennox and Luke Pavicich to start the season.
The Clarence Center, NY, native began his junior career in the OJHL with the Buffalo Junior Sabres. In 37 games with the Junior Sabres, he put up a 20-16 record with a 3.42 GAA, .888SV%, and one shutout. During the 2020 OJHL Playoffs, he put up a 4-2 record with a 2.50 GAA and .922SV%. Pavicich also spent one year in the NAHL with the Kenai River Brown Bears. In his one season with the Brown Bears, he went 19-14-1 with a 2.86 GAA, .919SV%, and two shutouts. He would be named the NAHL (Midwest) Goaltender and Player of the Year. Pavicich was also named to the NAHL Second All-Star Team. In nine playoff games with the Brown Bears, he put up a 5-4 record with a 3.11 GAA, .917SV%, and one shutout.
“It’s kind of a no-brainer for me [to come to Worcester],” Pavicich said. “I have a good relationship with Tuzz. I know what I’m getting from him, he’s a straight shooter. It’s nice when you can have a comfortable conversation with a coach around the rink.”

NCAA Career
Pavicich would then take the NCAA route, as he would spend his first three years in the NCAA in the state of Massachusetts. He spent his first two seasons at UMass, where he put up a 9-11-4 record with a 2.66 GAA, .921SV%, and two shutouts. In his first season with UMass, the Mintuemen won the Hockey East Championship. Pavicich played in just four games that season, putting up a 1-1 record with a 1.62 GAA and .933SV%. In his final season in Massachusetts, he played with the UMass Lowell River Hawks. In 17 games with the Riverhawk, he put up a 3-11 record with a 3.61 GAA and .885SV%. Pavicich would head out West for his final year of NCAA eligibility, joining the Arizona State University Sun Devils. In 23 games with the Sun Devils, he went 13-9 with a 2.63 GAA and .909SV%.
