ECHL: Worcester Railers Sign Schachle Brothers

The Worcester Railers have announced that they have signed forwards Porter and Tanner Schachle for the 2025-26 season. Tanner and Porter become the third set of brothers to sign in the ECHL for next season, joining the Constantini (Allen Americans) and Frasca (Reading Royals) brothers. Worcester now has 11 forwards and 16 players signed to contracts for the 2025-26 season.

Porter Schachle

Porter, 24, has spent the last four years at the NCAA level at the University of Vermont and University of Alaska-Anchorage. In 61 games with the Catamounts, he put up six goals and five assists for 11 points. After spending two years in Vermont, he headed home and spent two years with the Seawolves. In 53 games at the University of Alaska-Anchorage, he would put up 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points.

“We have a good group,” Porter said. “I’d been watching games last year and seeing who’s coming in this year. I’m so excited to get down there to [Worcester] and make some noise.”

In 11 games with the Railers, he had one goal and four assists for five points. The Wasilla, Alaska, native is entering his fifth season in the ECHL as he’s spent time with the Rapid City Rush, Norfolk Admirals, Orlando Solar Bears, and Worcester Railers. Tanner has 14 goals and 29 assists for 43 points in 146 career games. He also saw four games of action in the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs as a member of the Solar Bears. In 2023, he was named to the ECHL All-Star Team.

“The transition from the trade isn’t always easy, but everything was awesome,” Tanner said. “I showed up and [Tuzzolino] gave me a chance and I really appreciated it. It didn’t go the way we wanted to end it necessarily, but it set us up for a great season this year.”
