The Worcester Railers have recently signed forward Matt Demelis. He will be a rookie out of Northeastern. He played five seasons with Northeastern and had 50 points with 20 goals and 30 assists. He played a total of 152 games. He won three Beanpot championships at Northeastern, including back-back championships. He scored the game-tying goal in the 2024 championship against Boston University.
Before he stepped onto collegiate ice he played 117 career juniors games. He played in the North American Hockey League and the United States Hockey League. He played between 2016-2019. He scored 82 points with 31 goals and 51 assists as he proves time and time again that he is an assist man elevating everyone’s game.
The Worcester Railers are proving to be in heavy competition in the north division of the ECHL. They may be the team to beat if they keep stacking their roster the way that they are. Matt Demelis is the fifth player that the Worcester Railers have signed this offseason. He certainly is not the first and won’t be the last. The Railers took missing out on the playoffs altogether this past season personally and are looking to bounce back with a vengeance.
Do you think that the railers should get it at least 1/4 type player so players like Anthony Rapcie and Colin White in our other goal scorers do not have to defend themselves and sit in the box for a penalty because my thinking is with an enforcer he can take care of that dirty work sit in the box while the goal scores are still on the ice doing their job which is scoring goals what do you think about that
