GREENVILLE, S.C. — The Greenville Swamp Rabbits announced that they have traded center Zach White to the Fort Wayne Komets in exchange for future considerations. White, 29, is currently in his fourth season in the ECHL.
On September 10, 2024, the Reading Royals traded White to the Swamp Rabbits for future considerations. In six contests with the Swamp Rabbits this season, White recorded no points and two penalty minutes.
Last season, the 5-foot-7 Milford, Connecticut native appeared in 55 contests with the Worcester Railers, marking a tally of 12 goals and 10 assists. The 29-year-old made his ECHL debut during the 2021-22 season when the Iowa Heartlanders called him up after appearing in eight games for the Vermilion County Bobcats in the SPHL.
During that tenure, White played in 52 games for the Heartlanders, recording 51 points from 18 goals and 33 assists—a plus-10 performance.
The Swamp Rabbits previously made a trade with the Komets during the 2024 offseason when they traded Brannon McManus for Arvid Caderoth. So far, that trade has been a win for the Komets, as McManus has put up solid numbers for this season (4G-8A for 12 points) in just 18 contests, while Caderoth has struggled to find his game with the Greenville club (5 assists in 19 games).
