Edmonton Oilers forwards Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will both undergo medical imaging Friday as the club strives to better understand the severity of their respective injuries and anticipated timelines for return, per the Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli.

McDavid left Thursday night’s game against the Winnipeg Jets with a lower-body injury, and Draisaitl did not dress due to a previous injury. Following the 4-3 overtime loss to the Jets, Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch did not have an update on McDavid’s status, per TSN’s Ryan Rishaug.

Potentially, these can be two enormous losses to the lineup as the Oilers look to return to the Stanley Cup Final. Draisaitl leads the NHL with 49 goals and is second in the league in points. McDavid is fourth in the NHL in points with 90 while registering 26 goals and 64 assists. Last season,

The Oilers are currently in second place in the Pacific Division, three points behind the Vegas Golden Knights at 40-24-5 with 13 games remaining. Edmonton lost in seven games to the Florida Panthers in last season’s final.
