Executive Promotions for the Minnesota Wild

Craig Leipold, the owner of Minnesota Sports & Entertainment and the Minnesota Wild, announced three executive promotions. Matt Majka, Bill Guerin, and Mitch Helgerson received promotions and new titles.

Bill Guerin will continue to act as the Minnesota Wild General Manager but will add a new title to his name. As President of Hockey Operations, he will add an executive advisory role. He already focuses on team development and has been successful. During his tenure, the Wild have had consecutive 100-point seasons and qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs all four seasons. Guerin will continue to report to Leipold.

Matt Majka has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Minnesota Sports & Entertainment (MSE). Previously, Majka served as President and Alternate Governor. MSE includes the Minnesota Wild, Iowa Wild, and Saint Paul Arena Company. It also manages and operates Xcel Energy Center, TRIA Rink, Saint Paul RiverCentre, Roy Wilkins Auditorium, Herbie’s On The Park, and 317 On Rice Park.

Majka has been with the Wild practically from the beginning. In his new role, he will focus on innovating and growing extraordinary experiences throughout the organization’s different branches. He will continue to report to Leipold.

Mitch Helgerson has been promoted to Chief Revenue Officer. He will oversee all revenue streams in the organization. That includes ticket sales, retail, broadcasting, corporate partnerships, and premium seating.

Helgerson is currently Senior Vice President of Marketing and Broadcasting. During his 18 years with the Wild, Helgerson has also previously worked in sales, marketing intelligence, special projects, and finance. He will continue to report to Majka.
