Forward Mitch Fossier, from Alpharetta, Georgia, has signed with the Nottingham Panthers in the EIHL for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

Fossier has had an impressive hockey career across various leagues. At the University of Maine, he played 134 games over four seasons, scoring 38 goals and 90 assists for a total of 128 points. In the AHL with the Rockford IceHogs during the 2020-21 season, he played 19 games, scoring five goals and three assists. Fossier is also no stranger to international hockey as he also played in Slovakia for HC Banska Bystrica during the 2021-22 season, scoring 15 goals and 12 assists in 38 games. With the Maine Mariners in the 2022-23 season, Fossier played 38 games, scoring 15 goals and 12 assists, and added two goals and two assists in nine playoff games.

Most recently, with the Atlanta Gladiators in the 2023-24 season, Fossier’s consistent performance highlighted his versatility and skill as a forward. Mitch Fossier later signed a professional tryout agreement (PTO) with the San Jose Barracuda, the AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, on January 11, 2024. During his time with the Barracuda, Mitch Fossier played four games and recorded one assist. Although his stint was brief, he brought valuable experience and skill to the team.

Fossier returned to the Gladiators, where he continued to be an asset in point production. He played seven more games, scoring five goals and six assists, adding 11 points to his already impressive tally. He was then named to the 2024 All-Star Team and was later selected as the MVP of the 2024 ECHL All-Star Classic. In the All-Star game, he scored two goals and provided five assists in the All-Stars’ 18-11 victory, earning MVP honors.

Despite sustaining a lower-body injury and being placed on the injured reserve list during the latter part of the 2023-2024 season, Fossier remained one of the top scorers for the Atlanta Gladiators, accumulating a total of 33 points (10 goals, 23 assists) in 27 games. His ability to generate points consistently will certainly be an asset for the Panthers, as he has a proven track record of scoring and playmaking.

Fossier’s talents extend beyond the ice, and he has made quite a mark with his music as well. In 2023, he released his second EP titled “Like We Were Told” on November 7th, following his debut EP, “Through A While,” released in 2017. The emotional intensity of competitive sports adds depth to his music, reflecting the resilience and determination he has developed as an athlete.

Mitch Fossier’s national anthem performance on April 5, 2024, at the Atlanta Gladiators’ final home game gained attention on social media, including posts by the NHL.

According to the Nottingham Panthers press release, Fossier will wear the #18 jersey and is set to make his debut in this weekend’s home double-header against the Belfast Giants and Manchester Storm.
