Four Boston Bruins Prospects Named to Team USA World Junior’s Summer Showcase Roster

The 2025 World Juniors Summer Showcase roster has been announced. Team USA features four Boston Bruins prospects. Three of the prospects are forwards, as it will include James Hagans, Will Moore, and Will Zellers. The other prospect is a defenseman in Elliot Groenewold.

James Hagens

The Boston Bruins drafted Hagens seventh overall in this past draft. Hagens, in his first season at Boston College this past season, played in 37 games. He recorded 37 points on 11 goals and 26 assists. Hagens was a +21 with two power-play goals, four game-winning goals, and 24 penalty minutes. He also played in the World Juniors this season, appearing in seven games, recording nine points on five goals and four assists. Hagens was a plus-nine with two penalty minutes.

Will Moore

The Boston Bruins drafted Moore with the 51st overall pick in this past draft. This past season, he played for the U.S. National U18 Team. In 64 games, he had 59 points on 27 goals and 32 assists. He was a plus-four with eight penalty minutes. He also played for the USNTDP in the USHL. In 25 games, he had 21 points on ten goals and 11 assists. He was a plus-seven with two penalty minutes. In the World Juniors-18 for Team USA, he played in seven games, recording 11 points on three goals and eight assists. He was a plus-nine with two penalty minutes.

Will Zellers

The Boston Bruins acquired Zellers in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche. The Avalanche drafted him 76th overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Zellers, this past season with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL, played in 52 games. He had 71 points on 44 goals and 27 assists. He was a minus-two with 59 penalty minutes.

Elliot Groenewold

The Boston Bruins drafted Groenewold with the 110th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. This past season in his first at Quinnipiac University, he played in 38 games. He had 12 points on four goals and eight assists. He was a plus-five with two game-winning goals and 18 penalty minutes. In 2023-24, he played for the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL. In 57 games, he had 16 points on five goals and 11 assists. He was a minus-one with 77 penalty minutes.
