Team USA News & Notes:

USA went 2-0-0-1 in the round robin dropping the final game 2-1 to Sweden. The US was resting players due to injury. With the players resting it opened a spot for Chris Kreider who scored the lone goal in his first game of the tournament. Jake Oettinger made his first start of the tournament stopping 21 of the 23 shots he faced.

Team Canada News & Notes:

Canada finished the round robin 1-1-0-1 winning the final game 5-3 over Finland to clinch their spot in the Championship game. They got goals from Brayden Point, Connor McDavid, Sidney Crosby, and two from Nathan MacKinnon. Jordan Binnington got the start, he started all three games in the round-robin. Binnington stopped 23 of the 26 shots he faced.
