The Carolina Hurricanes will play the second game of their five-game road trip against the Anaheim Ducks. The Hurricanes are coming off a 6-5 shootout win against the Los Angeles Kings, while the Ducks are coming off a 4-1 season-opening loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

What to Watch

The Hurricanes last night blew a three-goal lead to the Kings, which led to them going to a shootout before picking up the win. The defense was supposed to be a strong suit for them after their additions in the offseason. Look for that unit to turn things around tonight against the Ducks.

Hurricanes Player to Watch: Winger – Teuvo Teräväinen

Teräväinen is in his 11th season in the league, playing the first three with the Chicago Blackhawks and the last eight with the Carolina Hurricanes. With the Hurricanes in his career, he has played 481 games, recording 363 points on 114 goals and 249 assists. So far this season, through two games, he has one point coming on a goal he scored in the season opener against the Ottawa Senators.

Teuvo Teräväinen’s Line Assignments

Teräväinen will left wing on the second line alongside Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Martin Necas. He will also play on the second line of the power play along with Kotkaniemi, Necas, Stefan Noesen, and Dmitry Orlov.

Teuvo Teräväinen’s Career vs. Anaheim

In his career against the Ducks, he has played in 22 games and has recorded 11 points, coming on four goals and seven assists, and he is a career plus five against Anaheim. In two games last season against the Ducks, he failed to record a point and was a minus one.

Raanta played in 27 games last season, going 19-3-3 with a 2.23 GAA and a .910 save percentage. He didn’t face the Ducks last season. In his career against Anaheim, he has played in ten games, going 5-4-1, giving up 19 goals against 259 shots.

Anaheim: Lukáš Dostál (0-0-0) (Expected)

Dostál played in 19 games last season, going 4-10-3 with a 3.78 GAA and a .901 save percentage. He has never faced the Hurricanes in his career.
