Wrap Up
The Detroit Red Wings finished their road trip 2-2-0 and thanks to Alex Lyon once again they were able to win on Monday against the Kraken. The Lightning also lost on Monday which allowed the Red Wings to sit one point behind them for the top Wild Card spot, they also got help from the Devils losing to the Capitals on Tuesday night which kept the Red Wings four point lead for the final playoff spot intact. Tonight’s game will be a tough one against the Avalanche who are one of the best teams in the Western Conference and even the NHL, they currently sit with sixth most points in the league. The Red Wings need to find a way to steal at least a point in this one, that would be in itself a victory, if they can come away with two points then they’d be in a great spot heading into the weekend when they have back-to-back games.
In their last ten games against Colorado, Detroit is 0-8-2, and have been outscored 46-20 in those ten games. Detroit lost both games to the Avalanche last season and have not beaten them since March 18, 2017.
