Wrap Up

The Detroit Red Wings return today and are currently holding the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference but the Islanders are closing in. Tonight’s matchup will not be an easy one as they take on the Western Conference-leading Canucks who they will also face twice over the next three games. After this afternoon they will start a Western Canada road trip against some tough teams in the Oilers, Canucks, Flames, and Kraken. Over these next five games if they can come away with six points at a minimum they’ll be in good shape heading into their tough schedule against teams ahead of them also teams that are chasing them in the Eastern Conference. Red Wings head coach said the other day that the Detroit net will be patrolled by Alex Lyon and Ville Husso will be sprinkled in, hopefully, Lyon can continue his stellar play as he looks to lead the Red Wings back to the Stanley Cup playoffs.

In their last ten games against Vancouver, Detroit is 6-4-0, and they outscored them 27-25 in those ten games. Detroit last season went 2-0-0 and outscored the Canucks 11-3.
