Red Wings Player to Watch: Dylan Larkin

Larkin has recorded 15 points on four goals and 11 assists this season. On the power play this season, he has ten points on three goals and seven assists.

Dylan Larkin’s Line Assignments

Larkin will center the first line, playing with Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond on his wings. Larkin also centers the first line of the Detroit power play, playing with DeBrincat, Raymond, David Perron, and Shayne Gostisbehere.

Larkin’s career vs. Bruins

In his career against Boston, he has played in 25 games and has recorded 18 points, coming on eight goals and ten assists. Larkin didn’t record a point on the lone Detroit goal in last Saturday’s matchup against the Bruins, but last season, in three games against the Bruins, he recorded four points coming on one goal and three assists.

Between the Pipes:

Detroit: Ville Husso (4-2-1, 3.28 GAA)

Husso this season is 4-2-1, and in his most recent start, he picked up a win in overtime over the New York Islanders on Monday. In his career against the Bruins, he has made five starts, and in those starts, he is 2-2-1 and has given up 16 goals on 175 shots. He faced Boston last Saturday, stopping 27 of the 30 shots he faced in the loss.

Boston: Linus Ullmark (4-0-1, 1.77 GAA)

Ullmark this season has the Bruins only loss, and it came in overtime; he posts a .939 save percentage. Ullmark, in his career against the Red Wings, has made five starts, going 3-1-1, stopping 147 of the 156 shots he has faced. Last season against Detroit, he made one start, picking up a win by allowing two goals on 31 shots.

Wrap Up

The Red Wings are in a tough stretch playing teams that are considered top tier or in the hunt for the playoffs with the New York Islanders, Florida Panthers, New York Rangers, and tonight, the Bruins over their next four games, and right now they are 1-1-0 with the Rangers coming up after tonight. If the Red Wings can come out with five points in that stretch, that’ll be considered a good sign, but the Bruins aren’t going to be easy as they are still undefeated in regulation.

The Red Wings, in their last ten games against Boston, are 4-6-0 and have been outscored 34-24. The Red Wings lost to the Bruins last season 4-1 in Boston.
