Red Wings Player to Watch: Dylan Larkin

Larkin is off to his best start to a season in his career as he is second in the league in points, trailing his linemate Alex DeBrincat. Larkin is the league leader in assists with eight, as he has 11 points this season.

Dylan Larkin’s Line Assignments

Larkin will center the first line with Alex DeBrincat and Lucas Raymond playing on his wings. He will also center the first power-play unit with DeBrincat, David Perron, Moritz Seider, and Shayne Gostisbehere.

Larkin’s career vs. Seattle

In his career against Seattle, he has played in four games and has recorded five points, coming on a goal and four assists. Last season, in two games against the Kraken, Larkin recorded two points, coming on a goal and an assist.

Between the Pipes: (Expected)

Detroit: Ville Husso (3-1-0, 3.04 GAA)

Husso this season has played in four games, posting a .901 save percentage. Last season against Seattle, Husso made two starts, going 0-1-1 and giving up nine goals; in his career against the Kraken, he has played in five games, going 3-1-1, giving up 11 goals against 151 shots.

Seattle: Joey Daccord (1-0-1, 2.40 GAA)

Daccord has been solid out of the gate, as he has not lost in regulation and has a .918 save percentage. He has never faced the Red Wings in his career.

Wrap Up

This is a game the Red Wings will look to keep things rolling, but the one thing they will need to do is find scoring from the bottom six again. Over the weekend, Joe Veleno had three goals, but no one on the bottom two forward lines had goals (David Perron’s came on the power play); look for them to provide some offense. The defense has also been providing offense for the Red Wings as they have started the season, putting up 22 points combined, coming on five goals and 17 assists.

The Red Wings lifetime against the Kraken are 1-2-1 and have been outscored 16-12. Last season against the Kraken, the Red Wings lost both matchups, one in regulation and one in overtime, and they were outscored 9-6.
