Strathclair, Manitoba’s own Morgan Geekie, has signed a two-year contract worth $2 million annually with the Boston Bruins. A small town that still gives the kids big dreams, Morgan Geekie and his brother Conor Geekie both have had their names called at the NHL Entry Draft. Morgan Geekie was drafted 67th overall in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft by the Carolina Hurricanes. His brother, Conor Geekie, found his name being called in the early first round.
In Morgan Geekie’s 2022-23 season, he would post career-high numbers for the Seattle Kraken. Geekie scored nine goals and 19 assists for 28 points in 69 games. Geekie, who was not given a qualifying offer, will bring a big presence to the Boston Bruins 2023-24 roster. Geekie would move from Carolina to the Seattle Kraken due to being selected in the Seattle Kraken Expansion Draft.
Morgan Geekie will be a restricted free agent with arbitration rights when his contract with the Boston Bruins expires.
