Nolan Maier and Pat Nagle of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms have faced their fair share of games in Reading this season. Both goalies have contributed immensely to the ECHL team’s success thus far.

Nolan Maier

The 22-year-old Yorkton native, Nolan Maier, has seen the most games between the two Phantoms’ goalies, playing in 24 games so far this season for the Royals and only four games for the Phantoms. In his time in Reading, he has earned himself a 2.89 GAA with a current SV% of .892. He has not faced any shootouts this year with Reading but has given the team victory in half of his games played, with a total of 12 wins and eight losses, with three overtime losses. As of 2/23/22, Maier is currently back in the Lehigh Valley.

Pat Nagle

Pat Nagle, the 35-year-old Bloomfield Township native, is no stranger to the Reading Royals. Nagle appeared in 17 games last season, earning a GAA of 2.41 and an SV% of .925. His regular season record with Reading was 11-3-3, but his season did not stop there. Nagle went on to play in seven of the team’s playoff games, where he played until the Royal’s defeat in Game 7 against Newfoundland, earning a record of 3-4-0. Nagle returned to Reading this season, appearing in 13 games for Reading, currently with a GAA of 2.36 and a SV% of .913. His current record with the team is 9-4-0, only appearing in one shootout. As of 2/23/22, Nagle has been returned to the Phantoms.

Though the Royals have received much help from their AHL affiliate, they have seen other talented names come through this season, such as Justin Kapelmaster, Brody Claeys, Josh Boyko, and their remaining goalie, Kaden Fulcher. Fulcher has played seven games with the Royals thus far with a record of 3-4-0 and a SV% of .892. The Royals return this weekend to face the Adirondack Thunder, with Fulcher as the high potential of goaltending with Nagle and Maier returned to the Lehigh Valley.
