Grand Rapids Griffins Re-Sign Forward for 2025-26 Season

The Grand Rapids Griffins finished the regular season going 37-29-4-2 with 80 points and a minus-one goal differential. They made the Calder Cup Playoffs, but the Texas Stars swept them in the first round before advancing to the Western Conference Finals. Today they announced they are re-signing rookie forward Gabriel Seger to a contract for the 2025-26 season. Seger in 59 games had ten goals and seven assists. He was a plus-five and had ten penalty minutes. He had one game winning goal. In the playoffs in three games he was held pointless. Seger finished as a minus-one and had two penalty minutes. He also played two games for the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL, recording a goal and two assists. He was a plus-three as well.

Gabriel Seger

Seger prior joining the Red Wings organization played college hockey at Union College and Cornell University. In 136 college games he had 117 points on 35 goals and 82 assists. He was a +32 with 64 penalty minutes. In his final season at college he played at Cornell recording 44 points in 35 games on 14 goals and 30 assists. That season, he recorded a +30 plus-minus rating and totaled 16 penalty minutes.
