The Utah Grizzlies have signed forward Dylan Stewart for the 2023-2024 Season. Stewart joined the Grizzlies after playing the last five years at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. In the previous five years, Stewart played 92 games, grabbing 82 points (32G,50A). Before his college career, he played 143 games in the WHL, splitting time between the Prince Albert Raiders and the Kootenay Ice.
The 26-year-old forward started playing in the WHL when he played 68 games, scoring six goals and adding an assist for seven points. He did have one game in the 2012-13 season with the Raiders. After finishing his WHL career, he had an outstanding season in 2017-2018 with the Sherwood Park Crusaders of the AJHL, scoring 32 goals and 34 assists, which was good for 66 points in just 59 games.
The Edmonton Native has been named to the ACAC First All-Conference Team the last two seasons, along with being a champion in the 21-22 season. Stewart is the third player to be signed by the Grizzlies. In addition to Kade Jensen, who was signed last week, Stewart stands at 6’2″. With Stewart’s height, the Grizzlies are definitely going to have a very physical presence. The Grizzlies open the 2023-2024 game at home against the Tulsa Oilers on October 21st.
