Toronto Maple Leafs Captain Auston Matthews has been listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury today, November 5, 2024, by the Maple Leafs prior to their matchup against the Boston Bruins.

There was suspicion that Matthews was dealing with a lingering wrist issue that led to surgery in 2021. Maple Leafs head coach Craig Berube was quick to dispel those rumors and added, ‘He’s been fighting through it a little bit, so obviously he’s out tonight.’

Matthews has 11 points in 13 games this season, a slight decrease from his typical pace, which could obviously be explained by the injury. The Maple Leafs will remain hopeful that Matthews will be able to get back in good health before their back-to-back games against the Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens this upcoming weekend.
