The Florida Everblades received some bad news on the injury front this week. Coach Ralph confirmed that forward Andrew Fyten is out for the season, and he was uncertain when forward Zach Tsekos would return to the lineup. Forward Bobo Carpenter landed on injured reserve on February 15th.
Andrew Fyten is in his second season with the Everblades, having signed his first professional contract with the team halfway through last season. He played in 21 games this season, scoring four goals, five assists, and nine points. He last played against the Savannah Ghost Pirates on January 20th.
Zach Tsekos started his professional career with the Utah Grizzlies in 2021. He signed with the Everblades at the beginning of this season and has played in 24 games, scoring five goals, six assists, and eleven points. His last game was against the Ghost Pirates on January 27th. He had just come off injured reserve for the game on January 26th and only played in two games before being hurt again.
Bobo Carpenter played against the Orlando Solar Bears Wednesday night before his injury. He is currently fourth on the team in scoring with 21 goals, ten assists, and 31 points through 44 games. Carpenter missed the end of the previous two seasons due to injury. He has yet to play in the playoffs, as his injury prevented him from playing in the Everblades’ two Kelly Cup championships. Carpenter has been an integral part of the Everblades’ top line, and the team will miss his scoring production during the three-game road trip against the Jacksonville Icemen and South Caroline Stingrays.
The Florida Everblades travel to Jacksonville to play against the Icemen on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
