Iowa Heartlanders Make Schedule Adjustments

Iowa Heartlanders/ECHL

Coralville, Iowa- As many Iowans and Heartlanders fans may know, Iowa City and Coralville are very busy places, with Xtream Arena being no exception. The arena hosts concerts, High School sports, AHL preseason games, college wrestling tournaments, and University of Iowa Hawkeye Volleyball and Gymnastics. Soon, the Coralville Chaos, an indoor football team, will be joining in on all the busy activities.

With that being said, Hawkeye Athletics’ scheduling priority for the arena has caused three early-season games to be rescheduled, similar to 2023-24, when opening night was moved up one day for conflicts with Hawkeye Football. These football conflicts have been eliminated altogether this year.

The following games have been rescheduled due to arena conflicts:

  • Friday, October 25th,\ vs. Bloomington will now be played on Thursday, October 24th, at 7 pm.
  • Saturday, November 20th vs. Bloomington will now be a pre-Halloween special played on Wednesday, October 30th at 7 pm.
  • Sunday, November 10th vs. Bloomington will now be played on Sunday, November 24th at 3 pm.

Also, Iowa’s game on Wednesday, December 11th vs. Toledo will now be played at 10:35 am for Field Trip Day.

Any other information can be found on the Iowa Heartlanders official website.

Derek Damon’s Squad will take the ice for the first time in the 2024-25 season on Friday, October 18th, at 8 pm against the Fort Wayne Komets.
