Jets and Moose Extend ECHL Affiliation With Norfolk

The Winnipeg Jets and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Manitoba Moose have made it official that they’ve extended their ECHL affiliation with the Norfolk Admirals. The Admirals spent the 2023-24 season as the Jets’ ECHL affiliate and they will do it for the second consecutive year in 2024-25.

Winnipeg Jets draft picks Dmitry Kuzmin and Thomas Milic both played in Norfolk during the 2023-24 season. Kuzmin was a 2021 third-round draft selection while Milic was drafted in the 2023 fifth-round.

Kuzmin and Milic were two of seven players who appeared with the Manitoba Moose and the Norfolk Admirals. Thomas Caron, Carson Golder, Simon Kubicek, Mark Liwiski, and Oskari Salminen round out the list of players to appear for both teams.

In their eighth ECHL season, the Admirals posted a win-loss record of 41-21-6-1 throughout the 2023-24 season earning a spot in the 2024 Kelly Cup Playoffs. This was the Norfolk Admirals’ first appearance in the Kelly Cup playoffs. The Admirals’ hopes for a Kelly Cup were cut short in the second round as they were eliminated by the Adirondack Thunder in six games in the second round.

The Admirals begin their second season as the Jets and Moose’s ECHL affiliate on Friday, October 18th, when they clash with the Adirondack Thunder at home in the Norfolk Scope Arena.
