10 straight wins and 329 goals go together like a perfect pair, right?

“That’s a great accomplishment, it shows the longevity and how he’s played through his career,” head coach Scott Arniel said about Mark Scheifele’s record breaking goal. “He should be real proud of what he’s done and he’s got lots more to go,” Arniel added.

Mark Scheifele couldn’t have written a better story for his 329th goal, landing him sole possession of first place in Winnipeg Jets 2.0 history.

“Sometimes it takes 59 minutes,” Jets defender Josh Morrissey said about his goal to make it a 1-1 game. “They were defending really well. It took a while, but we finally cracked it,” Morrissey added.

The Jets trailed 1-0 heading into the dying minutes of the third period, but Morrissey, who had been out for over two minutes, found himself on the left side wall will a loose puck trickling towards his stick which he blasted by San Jose netminder Vitek Vanacek.

The Jets forced overtime with 26 seconds left in the game, and the energy found its way back to the Canada Life Centre crowd.

“At the end of the game, you want to be out there,” Morrissey said about his extended shift late in the third period. “I guess that’s why you skate lines to be in shape for those moments,” Morrissey added.

Headed into overtime, Morrissey found himself starting overtime with Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele.

Connor found himself headed off for a change when Nikolaj Ehlers got onto the ice while the Jets maintained pressure in the Sharks zone. Morrissey, closely patrolling the right side of the ice, watched Ehlers rip a shot that trickled loose for Mark Scheifele to pick up the rebound and score goal 329.

“Scheifele does it! He’s the all-time goal-getter in the history of this (Winnipeg Jets) franchise, that’s goal 329,” John Forslund called live on the Amazon Prime Monday night broadcast on Scheifele’s record breaking goal.

Scheifele’s goal pushed the Jets to their franchise record 10th straight win which also makes the Jets the first team to win 10 consecutive games in 2024-25.

“You think about it, but you don’t really think about it,” Scheifele said to the media about if he was thinking about the record heading into this game.

Scheifele emphasized that a chance to score a goal, if it comes, that a player wants to bury it.

The Jets’ execution when they have the man advantage throughout the entire 2024-25 season has been excellent, they’ve accumulated the record they have now because of their effectiveness with the extra man and it’s bleeding into every aspect of their game.

It was said by a media member that the 10 game win streak is an eighth of a season, and the Jets have a win-loss record of 41-14-3 to show for it.
