Lajoie Makes Leafs Debut: Leafs Game Preview 11

The Leafs are back for Saturday night hockey as they face off against the Buffalo Sabres as they look to get back into the win column. Thursday night’s game was a roller coaster ride against the Bruins that ultimately saw the Leafs walk away with one point, losing in the shootout. The Leafs are trying to find their game and start clicking, as this is the usual time of the season when teams start to get into a groove.

Leafs Projected Lineup

Three Things to Look Out For

Lajoie

Lajoie was brought in by the Leafs this past offseason, along with Lagesson from the Chicago Wolves. Lajoie has played well so far with the Marlies and has some offensive upside and a decent shot. Keep an eye on Lajoie as he suits up for his first game with the Leafs.

Woll

Joseph Woll has had a solid start to his first full rookie season with the Leafs, and with Samsonov coming off of a solid start, it’s important for Woll to also have a solid start tonight. Woll has a lot of potential as a goaltender, and the hope coming into the season was that Woll and Samsonov would be able to challenge each other. So far, that’s been the case, and Woll will look to continue the push tonight with his calm demeanor.

Gregor

Noah Gregor came into the Leafs training camp on a professional tryout, and with his solid showing throughout camp and the preseason games, he earned himself a roster spot. The main thing that sticks out with Gregor is his speed. He has some offensive potential, although it’s limited. Gregor will look to continue to bring energy to the Leafs tonight in the limited time he plays. Keep an eye on Gregor tonight as he looks to continue to show why he was awarded a contract at the end of training camp.

The puck drops at 7 p.m. EST on CBC!
