The unrestricted free agent forward is signing a one-year contract with Barys Astana. Mason Morelli played in one game with the Vegas Golden Knights but didn’t record a point; he was a minus-one. In 48 games in the AHL with the Henderson Silver Knights, he recorded 19 points on 13 goals and six assists. He was a -11 with three power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, and 38 penalty minutes.

Morelli spent four seasons at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. In 120 games, he had 77 points on 37 goals and 40 assists. He was a -13 with seven power-play goals, a game-winning goal, and 86 penalty minutes. He spent seven seasons in the AHL playing with the Stockton Heat, Hershey Bears, and Silver Knights. In 299 games, he had 139 points on 57 goals and 82 assists. He was a +13 with 11 power-play goals, a shorthanded goal, four game-winning goals, and 247 penalty minutes. In 23 Calder Cup Playoff games, he had 14 points on five goals and nine assists. He was a plus-four with a power-play goal, two game-winning goals, and 30 penalty minutes.

He also played in 16 ECHL games, playing with the Kansas City Mavericks and the South Carolina Stingrays. Morelli recorded 16 points on seven goals and nine assists. He was a plus-eight with a power-play goal and four penalty minutes. He also played in ten games for Vegas, recording four points on three goals and an assist. Morelli was a minus-four with a power-play goal.
