Max Pacioretty Re-Tears Achilles Tendon

TSN

Oh, the mighty have fallen. The highly talented winger, acquired in the offseason, hits the shelf again. Max Pacioretty has re-torn his Achilles tendon, which had him miss the start of the season. The skilled winger tore it the other night against the Minnesota Wild. Pacioretty has been placed on injured reserve and will likely miss the rest of the 2022-23 season.

Max Pacioretty Re-Tore Achilles Tendon

This is a massive blow for the Carolina Hurricanes. Max Pacioretty was brought in to help solve a depth scoring issue, and now the team will be without his services. Carolina relies heavily on its top six for its production while still getting a fair amount from the bottom six. But with a team with Cup aspirations, this is not ideal and changes the course of action at the deadline.

The Next Move

This heavily defensive structured team is an elite Cup contender. They have a talented core in Sebastian Aho, Martin Necas, and Andrei Svechnikov. But with the team searching for scoring and the ability to escape the second round, the moves to be made have changed.

The team still hasn’t overcome the loss of Vincent Trocheck and now needs a top-six scorer. Not only have they been rumored around Bo Horvat, but they will now be in search of a winger. Do they circle around Brock Boeser? Timo Meier? Or pivot back to a player they once had an interest in, Tarasenko? It will be interesting to see, but the hit cap hit now becomes available with the ability to add to the core group.

When it comes to Edmonton Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner, one never knows what they are going to get. On one hand, one might see a version of Skinner, 26, who stands tall, comes up with big saves, does not get out of position, and does not allow soft goals. When this version of Skinner is […]
