Michael Brodzinski: ECHL All-Star

Orlando, FL– Orlando Solar Bears defenseman Michael Brodzinski was named the Solar Bears representative for the Eastern Conference All-Stars on December 28, 2022. This is Brodzinski’s 2nd all-star nod as he played in the 2019-2020 ECHL all-star classic. He had 2 points (1G,1A), three shots on goal, and a -2 rating in that All-Star Classic.

In addition to his 2nd All-Star nod, On Friday, Brodzinski was named the captain for the eastern conference. This season, Brodzinski has played 35 games getting 23 points (6G,17A). He has tallied only 26 penalty minutes this season. Brodzinski got his 100th assist in his career as a member of the Solar Bears when he had a secondary assist on a Joe Carrol power-play goal 4:27 into the first against the Florida Everblades on December 1, 2022.

Brodzinski is tied with Bears teammate Tristan Langan for most games played in a Solar Bears uniform at 230 games. He also has played 23 games with the Allen Americans as part of his ECHL career. In his career, he has tallied 148 points (33G, 115A). From 2013-2016, Brodzinski played his college hockey at the University of Minnesota, playing 99 games and grabbing 48 points (18G,30A). In all three seasons with the Gophers, they went on to win the Big Ten regular season champions. In addition, Brodzinski was part of the Big Ten 2nd All-Star team in his junior year.

In addition to being named an all-star, Solar Bears athletic trainer Brian DeAlmeida has been selected to be part of the bench staff for the Eastern Conference. The 2023 All-Star Classic will be played this coming Monday, the 16th, at Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA, at 7 pm EST.
