Minnesota Wild Claim Vinnie Hinostroza

The Minnesota Wild are coming off a 3-0 loss to the Boston Bruins last night. They will return to the ice tomorrow as they take on the Carolina Hurricanes at 7:30 PM EST. Today they claimed forward Vinnie Hinostroza off waivers from the Nashville Predators.

The Chicago Blackhawks drafted Hinostroza with the 169th overall pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. Hinostroza has played for the Blackhawks on two stints, Arizona Coyotes, Florida Panthers, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, and Predators in ten NHL seasons. Hinostroza has appeared in 387 career NHL games recording 153 points on 54 goals and 99 assists. He is a career -15 and has recorded 12 power-play points. His best season in the NHL was 2018-19 with the Coyotes playing in 72 games recording career highs in points, goals, and assists. He had 39 points on 16 goals, and 23 assists, was a minus-four, and had five power play points.

Hinostroza in 13 games this season has recorded two assists and was an even in plus/minus. He’s also appeared in 188 career AHL games. Hinostroza recorded 159 points on 62 goals, 97 assists, and is a plus-nine for his AHL career. He’s also appeared in 13 career Calder Cup playoff games recording five points, all on assists, and is a minus-four.
