Minnesota Wild vs. New York Rangers Preview

Game Preview

Coming off a 3-0 loss to the St Louis Blues and a two game losing streak, the Wild are hungry for a win. The last time the Wild faced the Rangers, they lost 7-3. Forward Ryan Reaves will be returning to Madison Square Garden following his trade to Minnesota in November.

The game should be an exciting one with lots of energy. The Rangers are currently 22-12-7 and in 4th place in the Metropolitan Division, while the Wild are currently 22-14-3 and in 3rd place in the Central Division.

It will be Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury’s first game back after taking a small hiatus to deal with a personal matter back in Montreal will also be Mats Zuccarello’s first game back after missing the last two games after suffering an Upper-Body injury against the Tampa Bay Lightning Wednesday night.

Notes

Matt Boldy played first line against the Blues alongside Kaprizov and Steel. He hit a career-high TOI with 24:56. Kirill Kaprizov also hit a career-high TOI with 26:36.

It will also be Mats Zuccarello’s first game back after missing the last two games after suffering an Upper-Body injury against the Tampa Bay Lightning Wednesday night.

Jordan Greenway missed Sunday Night’s game against the Blues with a Non-COVID illness.

The Wild were also without Eriksson-Ek and Hartman for periods in the game after they were hurt. Hartman came back, but Eriksson- Ek did not. Defensemen Calen Addison had to play forward for a bit as they were down two.
