The Montreal Canadiens announced Friday they recalled defenseman Logan Mailloux from their AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket. The 21-year-old blueliner scored two goals with two assists in two games on the young season.

During the 2023-24 season, Mailloux’s first season of professional hockey, the prospect scored 14 goals and 33 assists for 47 points and 91 penalty minutes. This performance earned Mailloux All-Star and All-Rookie honors. Eliteprospects.com has Mailloux currently ranked eighth on the Canadiens’ prospect rankings list.

Maiiloux played his first NHL game with the Canadiens last April, recording one assist in 21:14 of ice time in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Detroit Red Wings. The 31st overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Mailloux would play parts of three seasons with the London Knights between 2019 and 2023, with the full 2020-21 Canadian Hockey League season being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Belle River, Ontario native totaled 109 points with London and was the 33rd pick in the 2019 Ontario Hockey League Priority Selection.
