The Manitoba Moose agreed to terms with Bob Nardella to join the team as an assistant coach under head coach Mark Morrisson.
Nardella was a long-time part of the Chicago Wolves organization, joining the team as a skills coach in 2012-13. He became an assistant coach in the 2014-15 season before his promotion to head coach in 2023-24.
As an assistant coach of the Wolves, he helped the team capture the 2022 Calder Cup.
Before Nardella became a coach, he enjoyed a lengthy playing career, starting in 1992-93 with Alleghe HC in Italy-A. He joined the Chicago Wolves in the 1994-95 season when the team was a member of the International Hockey League.
Nardella won two IHL Turner Cups and one AHL Calder Cup as a player with the Chicago Wolves. He’s also added a DEL Championship in 1996-97 and an Italy Championship in 2002-03 in his playing career.
In his playing career, he never suited up for an NHL game, but was a significant defenseman in the minor leagues. Across his tenure in the United Hockey League, International Hockey League, and American Hockey League, he suited up for the Chicago Wolves, Quad City Mallards, and the Chicago Wolves. Nardella posted a total of 368 points (71G, 297A) in 548 games across the three leagues.
Internationally, Nardella suited up for Italy at the Winter Olympic Games in 1998 and 2006.
He brings championship experience to the Moose as a coach and will be a significant asset for the Moose as they look to rebound from a forgetful 2024-25 season.
