The Nashville Predators have officially announced the recall of goaltender Gustavs Davis Grigals from the Atlanta Gladiators.
In March, Gustavs Grigals signed a one-year contract to conclude the 2023-24 season with Nashville. Before this, he predominantly played for the Gladiators during the season, achieving an 11-19-0 record. Gustavs Davis Grigals (#30) was the goalie with the highest number of appearances among Atlanta’s goalkeepers appearing on this season’s roster and has unquestionably established a solid reputation after maintaining a save percentage of .900 and a noteworthy shootout victory. He also had three shutout wins to his credit – Allen Americans (October 29), Savannah Ghost Pirates (March 13), and Jacksonville Icemen (April 3).
Grigals made his AHL debut with the Milwaukee Admirals on December 31st, where he successfully defended against 22 out of 26 shots.
Before his professional career, Grigals played in four seasons at the collegiate level. First at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks (2018-2022) and later at UMass Lowell (2022-2023) before transitioning to professional play. During his last collegiate season, he achieved a record of 12 wins, nine losses, and two ties with a notable 2.05 goals-against average and an impressive .924 save percentage. His achievements had earned him a spot on the Hockey East Third All-Star Team.
The Nashville Predators will face off against the Vancouver Canucks in Game One of Round One in the Stanley Cup playoffs on Sunday, April 21st at 9 PM EST.
