Today they brought in some help on the blue line as they signed Tony DeAngelo to a one-year, $775,000 contract. DeAngelo will be placed on waivers due to him playing earlier this season in the KHL. In 34 games in the KHL, he recorded 32 points on six goals and 26 assists; he was a +15 and had 33 penalty minutes.

DeAngelo was drafted 19th overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. He has played eight seasons in the NHL spending time with the New York Rangers, Carolina Hurricanes, Philadelphia Flyers, and Arizona Coyotes. He has played in 371 career NHL games. DeAngelo has 210 career points on 48 goals and 162 assists. He is a career minus 23, has 89 power play points, 391 blocked shots, and 264 hits.

Last season he played with the Hurricanes in his second stint with the team. In 31 games he had 11 points on three goals and eight assists. He was a minus-seven and had six power-play points, 18 blocked shots, and four hits. His best plus/minus season was 2021-22 when he was a +30.
