The New York Rangers picked up a 5-1 win over the New York Islanders last night. With the win, they now sit two points back of the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Since returning from the Four Nations break the Rangers are 2-1-0 and have a big game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday. They may be without two key pieces on Friday though. Last night defenseman Adam Fox suffered an injury as he got tangled up with Kyle MacLean. It looked as if he suffered an injury to either his collarbone or his shoulder, but he went right down the tunnel and did not return. Earlier in the game the Rangers also had lost K’Andre Miller to a lower-body injury. If either or both are out for a significant amount of time, look for the Rangers to add a defenseman with the trade deadline coming next Friday.
