News: Ethan Frank signs NHL deal with the Washington Capitals

Ethan Frank has signed a one-year, two-way deal with the Washington Capitals. Frank is having a breakout season for the Capital’s AHL (American Hockey League) affiliate Hershey Bears. Frank has posted twenty-four goals and seventeen assists in forty-five AHL games this season. He has blazing speed, and this was showcased during the all-star festivals. Frank took home the top spot in the fastest skater competition with a time of 12.95. This is an AHL record in the fastest skater competition. This is a quicker time than Dylan Larkin’s NHL record.

Ethan Frank is from Papillion, NE. He was born on February 5th, 1998 (25 years old). He is 5’10”. Frank played for the Lincoln Stars for three seasons in the USHL before taking his talents to Western Michigan University. During his time at Western, he would get to play five seasons due to Covid 19. In his final season, Frank would score a career-high twenty-six goals and post thirty-nine points in thirty-eight games. In 2021 Frank was named to the All-NCHC first team. Frank was also named an All-American during the 2022 season.

Ethan Frank plays a fast style with a knack for finding the back of the net. Capitals fans are getting a player with an endless motor who is willing to go to the dirty areas of the ice. Frank joins the likes of Wade Allison and Mattias Samuelsson, who also played for Western Michigan University. Only time will tell, but the Capitals may have found a diamond in the rough with undrafted Ethan Frank.
