Boston Bruins News & Notes:

The Bruins are 10-16-3 on the road this season and are 3-5-2 as they’ve fallen to 7th place in the Atlantic Division. The Bruins have traded Trent Frederic, and other moves seem to be on the horizon for a Bruins team that hasn’t lived up to expectations this season.

Carolina Hurricanes News & Notes:

The Hurricanes are 23-7-1 at home this season and have won two straight games as they welcome the Bruins to Raleigh tonight. The Hurricanes have a +28 goal differential this season. This is the second of three matchups between these two teams, with Carolina taking the first meeting 8-2 on Halloween night.

Players To Watch:

Boston Bruins

Former Hurricane Morgan Geekie scored his career-high 20th goal in the Bruins’ 6-3 loss to Nashville on Tuesday night. Geekie has been one of the few bright spots for Boston this season. Since the 26-year-old winger has been paired with David Pastrnak, his scoring has taken off, with 17 goals since December 1. Geekie will be an RFA at season’s end and could potentially be a trade chip at the trade deadline tomorrow for a team looking for scoring.

Carolina Hurricanes

Sebastian Aho leads the Hurricanes in scoring with 59 points in 61 games. The Raina, Finland native has 23 goals and 36 assists this season and has goals in three of his last four games. Aho had an assist in Carolina’s win over the Bruins in their first meeting.
