Boston Bruins News & Notes:

The Bruins have won two straight games, including a 3-0 shutout victory over the Wild last night. With the win, the Bruins jumped back into playoff position in the second Wild Card spot. Boston has struggled on the road this season with a 9-14-3 record but will try to pick up a win at MSG tonight in their last road game of the month.

New York Rangers News & Notes:

After losing three straight games, the Rangers rebounded with a 4-2 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday. New York is 13-11-2 at home this season and is 5-3-2 in its last ten games. Tonight is a vital game for the Rangers, as they’ve fallen six points behind in the Wild Card race. Players To Watch:

Boston Bruins

Charlie McAvoy has goals in back-to-back games for the Bruins as they’ve started February with two victories. McAvoy has had a disappointing season (as many Bruins have) but has been better lately as they make their playoff push. The 27-year-old Long Beach, New York native is on pace for 33 points, his lowest total since the 2020-2021 season. For the Bruins to reach their full potential, McAvoy needs to get back to the player who was a perennial Norris candidate and one of the best two-way defensemen in the NHL.

New York Rangers

Artemi Panarin has started February with a bang, the 33-year-old winger has four points in two games this month as he continues to be the focal point of the Rangers offensive attack. Panarin may be re-energized since the trade for J.T. Miller, as the pair are playing together alongside Mika Zibanejad. Miller has four points in February with two goals and two assists, and Zibanejad has chipped in with a goal and three assists this month.

Opinion: Why Jet Greaves Is the Real Future in Goal for the Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets have undoubtedly had a solid season, considering everything they have endured. As of this writing (Tuesday night, April 15), the Blue Jackets are 38-33-9 for 85 points. They are four points behind the Montreal Canadiens for the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference, and while there is a good […]

Edmonton Oilers Pregame Thoughts

I had fairly low expectations for Monday night, but I still feel bad for the Edmonton Oilers fans who attended the game. They were without two of their top 4 defensemen, and the Kings had Drew Doughty back in theirs. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins was Edmonton’s only top 6 center in the lineup while LA has Anze […]
