The Sabres snapped a six-game losing streak with a 3-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Since the Four Nations break they are 3-5-1 averaging 3.11 goals per game while allowing 3.89 goals per game. Tage Thompson had two goals on Monday along with Alex Tuch adding another.

The Red Wings dropped their sixth straight game on Monday 2-1 to the Ottawa Senators despite the Red Wings outshooting the Senators 49-23. Dylan Larkin scored the lone goal for Detroit, it was his third in as many games. During the losing streak, they’ve scored three goals just once, averaging 1.83 goals per game while allowing 3.83 goals per game.
