Buffalo will likely receive a boost with forward J.J. Peterka expected to return after suffering a concussion in the Oct. 5 clash with the New Jersey Devils in Prague. Peterka practiced the past couple of days on the top line with Thompson and Alex Tuch.

Pittsburgh Penguins:

Sidney Crosby is the active scoring leader against the Sabres with 82 points in 59 games. Evgeni Malkin is second with 69 points in 53 games). Crosby is one point away from becoming the 10th player in NHL history to record 1,600 points.
