Late last night, Utah Hockey Club traded for defenseman Olli Maatta from the Detroit Red Wings for a 3rd round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft. Utah has been decimated by injuries on defense so far this season with Sean Durzi and John Marino both out for months. To make matters worse, Utah gave up a 4-1 3rd period lead to San Jose. The Sharks won 5-4 in overtime to claim their first win of the season and send Utah to their 4th straight loss.
