Chicago Blackhawks Notes:
The Blackhawks are still rebuilding but are tired of moral victories after a tough 2-1 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets in which they played great for “59 minutes”. With an emerging superstar like Connor Bedard, they are expecting to improve and possibly move up the Central Division standings. Keep an eye on Bedard and Teravainen, who will be key to any offensive success this season.
Edmonton Oilers Notes:
The Oilers have been experiencing a rough start to the 2024-25 NHL season. After a tough 6-0 loss to the Winnipeg Jets in their home opener, there have been shifts in the defense pairings as coach Kris Knoblauch looks for more stability on the blue line. Forward Raphael Lavoie was lost to waivers, claimed by the Vegas Golden Knights which caused some uproar given his potential. Meanwhile, Travis Dermott was signed to bolster the defense.

Players To Watch:
Chicago—All eyes focus on Connor Bedard, the Blackhawks’ franchise center, who enters his sophomore season after a dazzling rookie season with 61 points. Bedard will be the focal point of the Blackhawks’ offense and could break the 100-point barrier this season.
Edmonton – Connor McDavid will be looking to rebound after he was held off the scoresheet in their home opener. McDavid has 56 multi-point games immediately after being held scoreless. McDavid led the Oilers with 132 last season. Look for the generational talent to get back on track against a Chicago team still fighting to get out of the bottom of the league standings.
